The Battleof the Bands 2009 took place on Saturday 14 November and despite the wet andwindy weather, a fantastic night was had by the bands and the 300 friends, family and music lovers who came to support them.

The competition, which is now in its third year, started at 4pm and finished at 11pm, during which the 10 bands competing hadeach played a 25 minute set to showcase their talents. Thenight was rounded off with a performance from last year’s winners, The Jamlinjays, who were also releasing their new EP. The judges were really impressed with the highstandard of the bands which took part and had a tough time choosing the three winners.

Firstprize went to Switch, the youngest band in the competition, who are all 14 / 15and from the Milton Keynes area.  Secondprize went to Get Set, a 4 piece from Biggleswade and third place was awardedto A Thousand Sins, a metal band from the Comberton area, who are 16 and 17 andperformed alongside Switch at last year's Battle of the Bands.
